John Currie is a proven intercollegiate athletics leader with 25 years of experience in the ACC, Big 12 and SEC.

 

He holds an adjunct position and teaches a class at Columbia University in New York and is a retained consultant for the University of Texas in Austin, through his company, Lauchlin Advisors, LLC.

 

Serving as director of intercollegiate athletics at Kansas State from 2009-2017 and most recently as AD at the University of Tennessee, Currie is respected amongst intercollegiate athletics leaders for his unwavering integrity and dedication to inclusiveness and the student-athlete experience.

 

An Under Armour Athletic Director of the Year in 2013, and Sports Business Journal Forty Under 40 winner in 2011, Currie holds degrees from Wake Forest University and the University of Tennessee. He and his wife Mary Lawrence celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in 2018 and are the proud parents of Jack, Gigi and Mary-Dell, and a King Charles Cavalier named Charlie.
